This fortnight, in a change to the advertised schedule, Nick and Alastair take on another Marvel double-bill with antihero punctuation movie Thunderbolts* and the first season of new Disney+ cartoon Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man.

But first, Alastair’s seen new Netflix anime Terminator Zero, while Nick’s read dark fantasy rural noir comic Revival ahead of the upcoming TV adaptation.

After all that, time to get into it with Thunderbolts* (12:36), including deep thoughts about the themes, the direction of the MCU and full spoilers from 25:00 onwards, including the meaning of the all-important asterisk.

Lastly, time for Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man (29:33), which Nick inevitably has lengthy feelings about. He also feels that it’s worth seeing this show unspoilt because there’s a good twist towards the end, but if you insist on ruining it for yourself, the spoilers are in the podcast anyway from 37:30.

And don’t forget you can back Nick’s kickstarter for SoulD #2 for another two weeks! It’s now funded, so no risk attached!

This fortnight, Nick and Alastair delve into the dark side of superheroics with Daredevil: Born Again, then the grimy underbelly of tech and society itself in Black Mirror season 7.

But first, Nick’s finished the final season of a warmer, more lovable superhero series in Superman & Lois, while Alastair’s been listening to the new Viagra Boys album Viagr Aboys (not a typo).

And then it’s time to return to Hell’s Kitchen in Daredevil: Born Again (19:35). Nick and Alastair covered the original Marvel/Netflix Defenders shows pretty extensively on this podcast – can this comeback live up to those inconsistent glory days?

Finally, another return to a previous subject in Black Mirror season 7 (38:15) – is it as sad as before? And is that good or bad? All that and more!

Nick would also like you to know that his new Kickstarter for SoulD #2 is live now! This is the second issue of his series about a corporation selling our souls in rock form, with artist Phil Appley. If you bought the first issue and want to know the resolution to that cliffhanger, this is your moment! Or if you missed it and want to grab both, they’re both available. He’d just love it if you checked it out.
