This fortnight, Nick and Alastair ascend to the heavenly heights of Good Omens 2, then plunge into the dirty underworld of spies in Old Dog.

But first, Nick’s still listening to bands from his teens with the new Hives album The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons, while Alastair’s seen The Last Waltz outside the Barbican. (With a cameo from Nick’s Barbie opinions.)

And then they ascend to the afterlife and bicker like an old married couple with Good Omens 2 (12:27, including full ending spoilers from 23:01), testing the very limits of hot actor chemistry.

Lastly, time to go underground with Old Dog (29:55), the new spy-fi comic from Declan Shalvey, but don’t worry, there’s no risk of our heroes learning any new tricks.

It’s the return of the Netflix movie double-bill this fortnight, with They Cloned Tyrone and Extraction 2.

But first, Alastair’s seen new wine-battle show Drops of God, while Nick’s once again in retro territory with new Blur album The Ballad of Darren.

After which, our heroes sign on for the conspiracy in blaxploitation scifi comedy They Cloned Tyrone (12:08).

And lastly, time to heroically blow up some vehicles and slaughter hundreds with Chris Hemsworth in Extraction 2 (23:47).

A change to the advertised programme, as Nick and Alastair both made it to the cinema to watch burning-hot new movie Oppenheimer, as well as sneaking through latest Marvel mini-series Secret Invasion.

But first, Nick’s reading long-standing cops/capes comic Powers by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, while Alastair’s filling in the other half of the Barbenheimer meme for us with Barbie.

From which they move right onto the nuclear dawn in Oppenheimer (13:29), Christopher Nolan’s new biopic about nuclear bombcraft which looks like one of the big releases of the year.

And at the opposite end of the spectrum, they also saw Secret Invasion (28:32), the latest Marvel Disney+ event finally giving Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury some spotlight.
