This fortnight, Nick and Alastair cover the second run of two podcast favourites: punk sitcom We Are Lady Parts and crime comic Newburn.

But first, Alastair’s seen genre-defying new French film The Beast, while Nick’s seen the second Sonic the Hedgehog movie and the recent Knuckles spin-off show. Two very similar flavours.

And then they jump in the van and get on the road with We Are Lady Parts season 2 (18:27). Will both the show and the band match their previous success?

Lastly, it’s the second and final volume of Newburn (32:05) by Chip Zdarsky and Jacob Phillips. Can they bring the story to a satisfying conclusion? And is Nick ready for it to end?

New cinematic universes sprout like weeds this fortnight, as Nick and Alastair cover Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Dead Boy Detectives, a new Sandman-adjacent Netflix show.

But first, Nick’s taking an unusual stop into the real world (kinda) for Welcome to Wrexham and Alastair’s back in the 2000s with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

And then it’s out into the Wasteland with Furiosa (16:29), to see if anything can live up to the high-speed legacy of Fury Road.

Finally, they investigate Dead Boy Detectives (33:20), and Nick is right on hand to compare it to a BBC fantasy series from the late 2000s.

If you’re here in the first few hours after the episode goes up, you can still back Nick’s latest comics kickstarter The Collected Letters of Courier Z. But not for long because it ends at noon!
